PREVENTION AND CURE FOR ENLARGED PROSTATE AND PROSTATE CANCER (Blog Series 4)

In Series 3, I talked about the need to take Supplements for Prevention and Cure for Enlarged Prostate and Prostate Cancer.

In Series 4, I will continue with PREVENTION AND CURE FOR ENLARGED PROSTATE AND PROSTATE CANCER.

I have talked about the need to take Supplements for Prevention and Cure.

Now I will talk about Prostate-Friendly Foods that will greatly aid Prevention, and also stop further growth of the ailments.

However, you will need to eat suffiently such foods, in order to have any meaningful impact.

Consequently, in addition to taking Supplements, when you build into your food menu, Prostate-Friendly Foods, they assist both the young and old with adequate nutrition.

Also they protect them from Prostate problems, and for Prostate patients, reduce the growth of the Prostate.

Therefore, build into your food menu, nutrients essential for protecting the body, e.g. Proteins, Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals, Fibres, etc.

Also please ensure you balance your diet, as mentioned in “Eating Healthy.” Do not say, “I love eba or rice so much”, and eat eba or rice morning, night, and evening, and probably continue same meal the following day.

If you do so, you will only create serious health issues for yourself.

1. Carbohydrates –

Deficiency of Carbohydrates can cause impaired functioning of the immune system, etc.

While the excessive consumption of Refined Carbohydrates such as cakes, pancakes, flours, crackers, jams, bread products, refined potato products, sugary drinks, ice cream cones (sugar rolled), chocolate candy bars, chocolate hazel spread, can cause diabetes types 1 and 2, cancer, etc.

You need whole wheat such as brown rice, whole wheat bread, quinoa, teff, buck wheat, oats, barley, etc.

You need Carbohydrate foods for energy, e.g. sweet potatoes, pounded yam, rice, eba, plantain, semovita, yam, bread, pasta, etc.

2. Protein –

(a) Take plenty of protein-rich foods, such as beans, seeds, fish, meat (please avoid red and fatty meat), nuts.

(b) You need Whole wheat and grains which are good sources of protein, fibre, magnesium.

Some high-fibre options are whole wheat bread, corn, oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice, barley, faro, kasha, millet, bulgar, etc.

Choose wholegrains over processed foods.

(c) You need mushrooms. They are quite tasty.

Mushrooms contain compounds known as beta glucan and proteins known as lectin, which attack cancer cells. Also they build the immune system.

However please go for the edible ones only, because some are poisonous.

(d) Asparagus –

Eat fresh or canned Asparagus which contain protein referred to as “histones.”

Asparagus controls cell growth, prevents and cures cancer, dissolves kidney stones, and is good for overall health.

(e) In view of the fact that Protein foods give you energy, and also make you feel fuller for a longer period, they help you to loose weight.

(f) Also you need to drink plenty of water after eating protein meals as this will help with digestion.

And since Obesity is one of the risk factors for Prostate Problems, shed some weight by making the right food choices. Eat reasonably protein foods.

3. Of cause you need plenty of Fruits and Cruciferous Vegetables which are rich in antioxidants, and also good sources of Vitamins, Fibres, Minerals.

Fruits and Cruciferous Vegetables help the liver to detox, as well as rid the body of excess estrogen.

Some Studies suggest that one of the phytochemicals found in Cruciferous Vegetables, known as “Sulforaphane”, selectively targets and kills cancer cells.

(a) Fruits –

Eat plenty of fruits which also contain lycopene such as pawpaw (papaya), watermelon, pink grape fruit, guava, etc.

Eat apples and pineapples which contain fibre, Vitamin C, which both contain anti-inflammatory properties.

Eat plenty of cherries, blueberries, strawberries, which are sources of antioxidants, and are also anticancer nutrients.

Eat citrus fruits which are excellent sources of Vitamin C, e.g. oranges, grape, tangerine, lemon, lime, pomelo, citron, oroblanco, etc., and other fruits such as mango, sweet peppers, etc.

(i) You need lemons.
Place some lemons in the freezer, and once frozen, grate and shred the whole lemon, including the skin.

Sprinkle it on your foods, namely, soups, cereals, salad, ice cream, noodles, spaghetti sauce, rice, fish dishes, sushi, etc.

This will give your foods an unexpected wonderful taste.

Lemon has many health benefits. It kills all types of cancer cells. Also it is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.

(ii) You need plenty of red grapes, red grape juice, or red wine.

(iii) Pomegranate Juice –

It is a “miracle fruit.” It is a rich source of antioxidants, and works in a “seek and destroy” method, and targets exclusively prostate cancer cells, and also hinders production of different cancer cells.

(b) Cruciferous Vegetables –

You need plenty of cruciferous vegetables such as spinach, cabbage, turnip, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, Brussels sprouts, water cress, radish, arugula, etc.

4. Tomatoes –

Lycopene found in tomatoes is a powerful antioxidant. It lowers the risk of developing Enlarged Prostate and Prostate Cancer. Furthermore, it reduces tumor growth.

Red Ripe tomatoes is said to contain more lycopene than slightly ripe tomatoes. So go for red ripe tomatoes always.

As the human body cannot easily extract lycopene from raw tomatoes, eat slightly cooked tomatoes, and tomato-based products.

Also, you need to eat them regularly as lycopene is not stored in the body for long.

Therefore go for the following –

(a) Slightly cooked tomatoes
(b) Sun-dried Tomatoes
(c) Tomato Paste
(d) Ketchup
(e) Tomato Juice
(f) Spaghetti Sauce

5. You need foods that can detox the blood e.g. carrots, artichokes, beets.

You also need foods containing carotene such as carrots, apricots, pumpkins, spinach, sweet potatoes.

6. Legumes –

Legumes contain phytoestrogens, which have cancer-fighting properties, that can suppress tumor growth in prostate cancer cells.

So, eat legumes such as soya beans, peanuts, clover, peas, beans, tamarind, alfalfa, lentils.

7. Soya Beans –

It contains chemicals that can slow down the growth of prostate cancer, as well as prevent its relapse after treatment.

Soya beans is a non-dairy source of calcium. So eat the following products of soya beans, namely, soy bread, low-fat soy milk, soy yoghurt, tempeh, roasted soy beans, miso, tofu, cholesterol-free soy oil, meat substitute made from soya beans.

8. Avocadoes –

They are rich in beta-sitosterol, which strengthen the immune system, as well as reduce inflammation and pain.

Other sources of beta-sitosterol are soya beans, wheat germ, pecans, pumpkin seeds.

9. Fish – Omega-3 Fatty Acids –

Omega-3 Fatty Acids can prevent the development and progression of prostate problems.

Therefore eat plenty of Omega-3s found in cold waters such as herring, sardines, mackerel, salmon, etc.

For those who do not like fish, you can get your Omega-3s from ground flax, seeds, walnuts, kidney beans, canola oil.

10. When a man is experiencing Enlarged Prostate problems, it is also an indication that the level of Zinc in his body is low.

So apart from taking Zinc Supplement daily, eat foods high in Zinc, e.g.  pumpkin seeds, adzuki beans, crabs, shrimps, kidney beans, egg yolks, turkey,  watermelon seeds, flax seeds, salmon, lobsters, dark chocolate (in little quantity at a time as it is high in calories), lima beans, spinach, peanuts, oysters, brown rice, cashews, mushrooms, almonds, beef liver, peas, crabs, peas, sesame seeds, etc.

Incidentally, Zinc is also important for the development of sperm, etc.

Therefore you certainly need plenty of Zinc to maintain perfect health in the body.

11. Eat only low-fat dairy foods, e.g. skimmed or semi-skimmed milk, reduced-fat cheese, etc.

12. Use Honey. It contains anti-inflammatory and anti-metastatic  properties to fight tumor and cancer.

Foods to Avoid –

1. Saturated fats from dairy and other animal products should be avoided.

2. Avoid too much in take of sugar and salt.

3. Eat less processed, frozen, and canned foods.

4. Reduce your intake of margarine, baked and fried foods.

5. Avoid processes meat such as sausage, bacon, ham, burger.

6. Avoid red meat. Eat instead fish, chicken, turkey.

However, you need to remove the skin from the chicken and turkey, as they contain saturated fat.

Unfortunately, our diets no longer contain enough nutrients, our soils haven been depleted, our air and water polluted, etc.

Advice for Patients –

Patients who may be experiencing loss of appetite, mouth sores, etc. as a result of treatment, the following should prove useful to you:

1. Brush your teeth before eating. Then take some fruits, or chewing gum, mints, herbs, spices such as ginger, etc, to improve your appetite.

2. If you find it difficult to drink water, take in more fluid by drinking soups, tea, milk, or add freshly cut fruits into your water to flavor it.

3. Season your foods with ginger, rosemary, cayenne.

4. Eat more protein such as fish, egg white, low-fat cheese, etc.

5. Alternate frequently eating of vegetable salad, and fruit salad, freshly made on each occasion.
You need them.

Eat your vegetable salad without salad cream to help you stay trim.

6. Learn not to rush your meals, and stop when you are full.

7. You need Vitamin D. So get enough sunshine daily.

8. Take your Tiens (Tianshi) Supplements daily.

If you find it difficult to swallow the capsules, you can dissolve them in your tea (they dissolve easily in hot water), and sip gradually.

9. Use of Laptop –

As the name “laptop” implies, you place it on your lap.

However, if you often place a laptop on your lap, you run the risk of contacting the following –

(a) Skin discoloration in the affected area.

(b) Problem of infertility.

Therefore, irrespective of the name “laptop,” please avoid placing a laptop on your lap.

Change that name laptop to “desk or table top,” in your own interest.

In other words,always place your laptop on a desk or table, when working.

10. Exercise –

Please learn to exercise daily.

It is not only when you go for 100 meter race that you exercise, as you are not competing for a medal.

Walk round your neighbourhood, your house, or your large sitting room 10 times; swim if you can; work in your garden. It is all exercise.

In Series 5, I will give you vital information for your protection. Also I will dwell on Mild Symptoms of Enlarged Prostate, and how you can treat such symptoms.

You cannot afford to miss this, and any other information on this subject, as they will guide you one way or the other.
