Why Is It Important To Include Fruits And Vegetables In Our Diet?

1. The high content of water in them helps us stay hydrated.

2. They have a high content of water and fibre, but are low in calories. But when you consume them regularly, this can result in a higher volume of food intake.

3. They are very rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, fibre, and phytonutrients.

4. Their alkaline production help to  preserve bone mass and muscle tissue.

5. Antioxidants:
As earlier mentioned, fruits and vegetables are a good source of antioxidants.

Some studies suggest that when you consume a diet rich in antioxidants, this may lower age-related cognitive declines, as well as the risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases.
It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and other chronic diseases.

When you increase your fruit and vegetables intake, you could prevent 20% or more of all cancer cases, and so avoid approximately 200,000 cancer-related deaths annually.

6. Diets containing Fruits and Vegetables, are lower in saturated fat and cholesterol. But they are rich in higher levels of dietary fiber, vitamins C and E, potassium, magnesium, carotenoids, folate, flavonoids, and other phytochemicals.

A higher level of consumption of fruits and vegetables would result in a low incidence of:

(a)    Cancer
(b)   Cardiovascular disease
(c)    High Blood Pressure
(d)   Type 2 Diabetes
(e)    Eye Disease
(f)     Asthma
(g)    Stroke
(h)    Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
(i)      Osteoporosis.

7. Fruits Beautify the Skin and Grow the Hair:

I will tell you a true life story.

There was this maid working for a married couple with children.
The maid unfortunately had a wicked employer, who refused to feed her, regularly.

However the couple had lots of Fruits in the compound.

Since the madam of the house refused to feed her, the maid always helped herself with fruits in the compound, to eat. This was her food day in day out.

Years later, the result of this maid’s regular eating of fruits manifested; she developed  blemishless and beautiful skin. Also her hair became very long and full, making her very beautiful.

Suitors came asking for her hand in marriage because of her beauty, and she eventually got married.

Eat Fruits Before Meal:

The correct  way of eating fruits that will be beneficial to you is to eat them on empty stomach.

When you wake up in the morning, take a glass of water. And follow up by taking Fruits in an empty stomach.
This will help to detoxify your system, as well as supply you with a lot of energy, for your daily activities.

But if you eat Fruits with your meals, when  the Fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and the digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to decay.

You can also eat Fruits in the evening as snacks, but preferably before dinner.

However, please avoid eating Fruits close to bedtime, because the sugar present in the Fruit, causes a hike spike in energy levels, and this will keep you awake. Eat them at least 3 hours before sleeping.

When you eat Fruits Before your meal, it helps increase your intake of fibre. This makes you feel fuller for a long period, and also helps to delay your digestion process.

Fruits high in fibre are bananas, pears, apple, raspberries.

When you eat Fruits with your meal, it will slow down digestion, as the Fruit remains in your system longer than necessary.

Eating Fruits the correct way is the secret of longevity, health, normal weight, energy, beauty, and happiness.

Consequently, learn to eat Fruits the correct way, and also  include Fruits and Vegetables in your diet, and enjoy the many health benefits.
